In conjunction with the CIArb Board of Trustees Meeting and CIArb Congress 2008 to be held in Malaysia, the Malaysia Branch of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators will be hosting an International ADR Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The theme for conference this year is “Making the Right Choice” in alternative dispute resolution. UNCITRAL-SIAC-CIAC Conference
SIAC together with its joint venture centre in India, the Construction Industry Arbitration Council, are pleased to announce that they will be hosting an UNCITRAL Conference to be held in India for the first time. Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration
The Malaysian and Australian Branches of the Chartered Institute will co-present the Diploma Course in International Commercial Arbitration in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Course Director is Malcolm Holmes, President of the Australian Branch, and he is supported by the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA), the Australian Commercial Disputes Centre (ACDC), the Law Society of New South Wales and Continuing Legal Education Centre, Faculty of Law, University of New South Wales (UNSW).

New Arbitration Initiatives Announced
The Ministry of Law, Singapore has announced two new arbitration initiatives. These are a tax incentive for law practices carrying out international arbitration work with hearings in Singapore; and the work pass exemption for those entering Singapore for arbitration and mediation services.
