The popularity of institutional arbitration in Asia
is on the rise because of the advantages it offers parties
in resolving transnational disputes in the region. For
some Asian countries, institutional arbitration is the
only form of arbitration that is known and recognized.
A Symposium organised by ICC and SIAC was held in February
2005 in Singapore to discuss and share views on current
issues in institutional arbitration. The Symposium brought
together a group of distinguished arbitrators from around
Asia.
A collection of the papers presented at the Symposium
have now been published by the SIAC.
