|Mr Davinder Singh, SC is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of SIAC and the CEO of Drew & Napier LLC.
Mr Singh’s legal experience spans three decades. He has an active international arbitration practice involving complex commercial disputes, international clients and multiple jurisdictions. He has advised and/or acted in numerous institutional and ad hoc arbitrations.
At the Chambers Asia-Pacific Awards 2014, Mr Singh was conferred the “Outstanding Contribution to the Legal Profession” Award. He is the only litigator in Singapore to be ranked by Chambers & Partners as a “Star Individual” for seven years running from 2011 to 2017. According to Chambers’ researchers, he is “widely acknowledged by market sources as a ‘very impressive’ dispute resolution specialist who readily adapts his skills as a star litigator to an arbitration context" and a “standout figure in arbitration as well as litigation, widely regarded as 'an exceptionally good lawyer - always top of the tree.’”
Mr Singh was also named “Disputes Star of the Year - Singapore” at the inaugural Asialaw Asia-Pacific Awards 2015, and “Disputes Lawyer of the Year” in Southeast Asia and India at the inaugural Asian Lawyer Emerging Markets Awards 2014.
In December 2015, Mr Singh was appointed Vice-Chairman of the ICC Commission on Corporate Responsibility & Anti-corruption.
Mr Singh also sits on the Board of Directors of the Singapore International Mediation Centre, PSA International Pte Ltd and Delfi Limited.
He was in the first batch of Senior Counsel appointed by the Singapore Supreme Court in 1997.
CAVINDER BULL, SC
|Mr Cavinder Bull, SC is a Vice-President of the Court of Arbitration. He is also the Deputy Chairman of the SIAC Board of Directors.
Mr Bull is a Director of Drew & Napier and has an active practice in complex litigation and international arbitration. He has acted as counsel in numerous international arbitrations and has represented governments, financial institutions and corporations from various parts of the world. Chambers & Partners describes him as a "consumate advocate" and says that "complex arbitrations are his specialisation". Mr Bull has also been appointed as an arbitrator in SIAC, ICC, LCIA and ad hoc arbitrations. He is also on the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators.
Mr Bull graduated with First Class Honours in law from Oxford University and has a Masters in law from Harvard Law School. He has been called to the Bar in Singapore, New York and England & Wales. He was appointed Senior Counsel in 2008.
|Mr Gautam Banerjee is a Senior Advisor to Blackstone and a member of the International Advisory Board. He is also Chairman of Blackstone Singapore.
Previously, Mr Banerjee served as Executive Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Singapore for nine years until his retirement in December 2012. He spent over 30 years with the firm in various leadership roles in Singapore, India and East Asia. Mr Banerjee is a Vice Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation and is a Board member of the Economic Development Board, the APEC Business Advisory Council, Yale-NUS College, Singapore Airlines Limited and The Straits Trading Company Limited. He was a Nominated Member of Parliament in Singapore from 2007 to 2009.
Mr Banerjee is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Singapore. He has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Accounting and Financial Analysis from the University of Warwick
|Mr. Nishith Desai is the founder and Managing Partner of the multiskilled, research-based international law firm, Nishith Desai Associates with offices in Mumbai, Silicon Valley, Bangalore, Singapore, Mumbai - BKC, New Delhi and Munich.
Mr. Desai's practice encompasses an extensive range of tax, corporate and technology matters, with a strong emphasis on private equity and venture capital funds. |Mr David Liu is a senior partner of Jun He Law Offices.
Mr. Liu has been in practice for over twenty years. His areas of specialty include banking and finance, M&A, and foreign direct investment. He is highly recommended for his outstanding performance in the areas of financial services, M&A. Mr. Liu has actively represented a number of international and domestic banks and been involved in structuring, negotiation, document preparation and rendering of opinions in many projects, including petrochemical, semiconductor, steel, automobile, power, water, toll road and other industries. Mr. Liu also represents multinational corporations in their entry into China’s market and advises state owned enterprises and other domestic companies on their cooperation with foreign investors. In recent years, Mr. Liu has also represented foreign banks and other financial institutions in their investments and strategic cooperation with PRC banks, fund joint ventures and financial institution deals.
Mr. Liu is an arbitrator with the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) and also Shanghai Arbitration Commission , and visiting law professor at the East China University of Politics and Law. Mr. Liu was awarded the Legal Personality of the Year 2003 and China Dealmaker of the Year 2009 by Asian Legal Business; listed on Chambers & Partners since 2000 and listed a M&A and banking lawyer by Asia Law & Practice since 2000.
RAJIV K LUTHRA
|Mr Rajiv K. Luthra is the Founder and Managing Partner of Luthra & Luthra Law Offices - ‘National Law Firm of the Year – India 2012’ by Chambers & Partners. He has been appointed on the Securities and Exchange Board of India (“SEBI”) committees on “Rationalization of Investment Routes and Monitoring of Foreign Portfolio Investments’ and “Reviewing Insider Trading Regulations.” He serves on the Advisory Board to the Competition Commission of India and to the Competition Advocacy Steering Committee and has been appointed by the Ministry of Commerce as Convener of the ‘Joint Economic and Trade Commission’ (JETCO), between India and the UK, formed to advise the Government of India on the liberalisation of legal services under the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS).
He is recognized for “…his singular contribution to the practice of corporate and commercial law in India and for being one of the country’s earliest pioneers in international transaction lawyering” and awarded by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, the Chief Justice of India and the Law Minister. He is a recipient of the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the 4th Annual International M&A Advisors Awards in New York. He has been inducted in the ‘M&A Advisor Hall of Fame’ by the International M&A Advisors Awards in New York. He also serves on the Boards of the HSBC India and Symphony International Holdings Limited (a London Stock Exchange listed company).
|Dr Moser is an international arbitrator, mediator and attorney-at-law. Prior to his retirement from the firm in 2006, Dr Moser was China Managing Partner of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Dr Moser is currently an arbitrator member of 20 Essex Street Chambers in London and Singapore. He is based in Hong Kong.
An Asia specialist, resident in the region for more than 30 years, Dr Moser has extensive experience as arbitrator in international disputes. He has served as arbitrator in cases sited in Asia, Europe and North America under both ad hoc rules (UNCITRAL) and institutional rules including those of the ICC, AAA, LCIA, Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), SIAC, Japan Commercial Arbitration Association, China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) and others.
Dr Moser has special expertise in relation to disputes involving direct investments and mergers & acquisitions, oil and gas disputes and disputes involving State parties, especially in Asia. He has served as Chairman of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and was a member of the LCIA Court and a Board Member of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. Dr Moser currently sits on the Board of the Vienna International Arbitration Centre.
Dr Moser is fluent in Chinese (Putonghua) and was the first foreigner to be appointed an arbitrator in China in the 1980’s. He currently sits as a Commission Member of CIETAC in Beijing. Dr Moser was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Chambers for his contributions to arbitration in Asia.
CHELVA RAJAH SC
|Mr Chelva R Rajah SC, a member of Singapore Bar since 1972, heads Tan Rajah & Cheah's dispute resolution team, having developed a distinguished practice in both litigation and arbitration, particularly in substantial commercial disputes, property-related matters and insolvency.
He was President of the Law Society of Singapore from 1990 to 1992 and was appointed a Senior Counsel on 10 January 1998. He is on the SIAC Panel of Accredited Arbitrators.
JOHN SAVAGE QC
|Mr John Savage QC is a Partner in King & Spalding's International Arbitration group based in the firm’s London and Singapore offices. He is also a Vice-President of the SIAC Court and has been a Director of the SIAC since 2009.
John has more than 25 years' experience representing governments and corporations in over 180 international arbitrations around the world. These include many corporate, construction, energy and investment treaty disputes, with an emphasis on the oil & gas and power sectors. Mr Savage has worked in Asia since 2001 and his experience extends across the Asia-Pacific region. In addition to his work as counsel, Mr Savage has been appointed chairman of the tribunal, sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator in more than 30 commercial and investment treaty arbitrations in Asia and beyond.
|Mr Giles White is a consultant to Webber Wentzel (Attorneys) in South Africa.
Mr White graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Laws in 1975 and 1981, respectively. He obtained the degree of Master of Arts in Law at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar in 1978. He was admitted as a Barrister to the Inner Temple, London in 1979. In his early career, he worked for Sonnenberg, Hoffmann & Galombik (Attorneys) in South Africa and Credit Suisse First Boston Limited in London. He was a partner at Linklaters for 18 years where his roles included serving as global head of finance and projects, and Asia managing partner.
From 2009 until 2015, he was Group General Counsel of the Jardine Matheson Group and a Director of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited, Dairy Farm International Holdings and Mandarin Oriental International Limited.
|Ms Jeanette Wong is DBS Group Executive responsible for the Institutional Banking Group which encompasses Corporate Banking, Global Transaction Services, Strategic Advisory and Mergers & Acquisitions. Previously, she was the Chief Financial Officer of DBS Group between 2003 to 2008.
Prior to joining DBS Bank, Jeanette was at JP Morgan for 16 years. During her tenure at JP Morgan, she had regional responsibilities for the Global Markets and Emerging Markets Sales and Trading business in Asia and was also JP Morgan’s head for Singapore between 1997 to 2002.
Jeanette’s career began in 1982 at Banque Paribas and then Citibank from 1984 to 1986 before joining JP Morgan in 1986.
Jeanette is a Director of DBS Bank (China) Limited and Chairperson of DBS Bank (Taiwan) Ltd. She also sits on the Boards of Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Essilor International, France and Jurong Town Corporation. Jeanette is a member of the NUS Business School Management Advisory Board and a member of the Global Advisory Board, Asia, for the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She is a member of the Securities Industry Council and Singapore’s alternate APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) member.
A Singaporean, Jeanette graduated from National University of Singapore with a BBA degree and holds a MBA degree from the University of Chicago.
